    1. Really great for sensitive folk

Reviewed: 30 October 2013 by rotgirlrot, a Bisexual Going Steady Female

Due to taking a brand of contraceptive pills which didn't agree with me last year and gave me thrush every month without fail, I'm now a bit susceptible to it, and one thing which causes it to crop back up is my enjoyment of rough sex with very little preparation. I'm on a pill brand which agrees with me now and I'm getting thrush less and less, but because of the microscopic tears which can occur in the vaginal walls during sex, I wanted to get a lube which would agree with my vagina's pH and help protect me a little bit from getting thrush again!

So I chose Sliquid Oceanics - the two reviewers prior to me convinced me with their excellent and thorough reviews. Well, as reviewer #3, I'm hoping to do as good a job too.

I tried this out for masturbation at first and was surprised by how far a teeny amount went! I squeezed a 2p sized amount out and it could be used to lube up my toy of choice (Lovehoney's Silencer 2.0) with loads to spare. It lasts a really long time, but like another reviewer said, it does leave a little bit of a white residue. It's not really a problem, as you can wash it off easily with water, but if you're concerned know that it seems to be pretty normal with this lube. I agree that it's probably to do with the botanicals.

It feels a hell of a lot like natural lubrication, which means it blends pretty seamlessly when you get good and properly turned on. It was lovely and smooth and I could glide my toy about wonderfully.

For actual with-another-person sex, it's great too. The taste is so minimal - I feel like I'm getting more the impression of a taste, than an actual taste. It blends fine with the taste of your partner and doesn't disrupt proceedings at all. It's great for handjobs and for fingering. I have no idea what it's like for ass play or anal as my partner and I aren't into it, but one of the other reviewers suggests Sliquid Sassy for it, as this is quite a thin lube better for vaginal play/intercourse.

Made sex great fun (not that it wasn't already) and didn't disagree with my male partner or me. My vulva feels, if anything, moisturised and pampered. And I haven't got that semi-sore feeling from rough sex, which makes me worry less about thrush. :)

If you're having rough sex with little to no foreplay, a quick dab of this makes all the difference. A little goes a long way and my vagina is much happier for it.

The packaging is also classy as hell and super discreet, so if you left it out, I doubt anybody would know what it was. Reminded me of the kind of bottles you'd get at Neal's Yard, except obviously brown and plastic. It has that sort of vibe.

If you're vegan, sensitive, or just want an organic lube (go you!) then go for this. It's exactly the same price as Sliquid Organics without the carrageenan, nori and wakame extracts, so you may as well get this and have the extra benefits! It is pretty dear for lube, but the quality is so worth the price. You only need a tiny amount and it's SO great and doesn't disturb your natural pH. Who wouldn't want that?

    2. Overall Rating:
      10 out of 10 stars
The smooth texture, how far a little went, the lack of smell/taste, the packaging.
The white residue, but even that was fine really, vaginas already leave white residue. ;)
      Bottom line
Amazing. So worth splashing out a little extra more.

    1. Feels amazing

Reviewed: 31 March 2012 by IcyJuly

I had previously been using lube in sachets for my toys and really hated the consistency of it, so I started looking for something that felt a bit more natural. This Sliquid has been excellent for that because it feels a lot like being naturally wet! There's never any stickiness and it's completely odourless and tasteless.

I wouldn't recommend it for anal play - it seems to wear off more quickly. But vaginally it's perfect. Using it with toys, I've found you need very little at a time. I got the bigger bottle because I was expecting to get through a lot, but after a few months of regular use I've barely made a dent in it!

Basically, I love it. Good value for the amount you get and the high quality, and it comes in a lovely discreet squeeze-bottle which is easy to use. I'll definitely be getting more when I eventually run out.

      Long-lasting, feels lovely.

Pretty much perfect! Wonderful consistency for toys.

    1. Sliquid Oceanics

Reviewed: 8 January 2013 by pennysblog

Lovehoney sent me a bottle of Oceanics to review, a water-based lube in the Sliquid Organics line that has added extracts from the sea. Oceanics utilizes the same 2 main ingredients as Sliquid H2O (purified water and plant cellulose) but also contains carrageenan, which may help prevent the spread of HPV, as well as other certified organic botanicals with revitalizing and healing properties. Like all Sliquid products, Oceanics is 100% vegan with no animal testing and is glycerin, paraben and petroleum free.

In use, Oceanics feels almost the same as Sliquid H2O. Like H2O, Oceanics feels great during foreplay and sex, with a medium consistency that isn’t runny, stays where it should, and mixes well with my natural lubrication. Oceanics also works well for handjobs and the like as it’s very long lasting, especially for a water-based lube. It is also odourless and almost tasteless (I can taste it slightly but it’s not unpleasant,) and it’s easily washed off with soap and water.

One of the only differences I noticed with Oceanics is that it’s slightly stickier than H2O but it’s hardly noticeable and is still a great, long-lasting lube. It also leaves a light, white, frothy residue after a while, but I only noticed this when I was testing it by rubbing it between my fingers, not in use. This is probably a result of some of the added botanicals, and like I said, it’s hardly noticeable.

Overall Sliquid Oceanics is very similar to Sliquid H2O and has the same great medium long-lasting consistency. The most important difference is probably its added Carrageenan, since it may help prevent the spread of HPV, one of the most common STDs. If you’re interested in a lube that does this, I would definitely recommend Oceanics since it’s a high quality, long lasting lubricant. If you don’t care about the added Carrageenan and botanicals though, then I would stick with Sliquid H2O since Oceanics is a little stickier and has a slight residue. Also, if you’re very sensitive to lube ingredients then you may want to stick with H2O since it has less ingredients (and therefore less possible irritants,) although I am fairly sensitive to lubricants and haven’t had any issues with Oceanics.

For foreplay and vaginal sex I definitely recommend either H2O or Oceanics, depending on your preferences. For anal play though I recommend Sliquid Sassy, which I’ve tried recently as well and is the same as H2O but thicker, which is important for safe and comfortable butt play.

    2. Overall Rating:
      9 out of 10 stars
Long-lasting, great medium consistency, only contains safe, natural, vegan ingredients.
It's slightly stickier than Sliquid H2O and leaves a slight residue, but it's hardly noticeable.
      Bottom line
It's a quality natural lubricant with carrageenan, which may help prevent the spread of HPV.
