Tried the 69? Not like this, you haven’t: Carnal Crossing takes the timeless classic to a whole new level by bringing in anal play. Spread those arms, legs and cheeks in this thrilling give-and-take, and share as much pleasure as you can handle. This position opens up access to your genitals and anus for intense stimulation; lick and suck external hot spots, while you tantalise all those super-sensitive, anal nerve endings too.

How?

Partner one: lie on your back on the bed, with your arms and legs outstretched to make a star shape. Partner two: climb on top of your partner so you’re straddling their head, with your knees by their shoulders, then carefully lower yourself down so your genitals are resting over their face.

Put your hands on the bed in front of you, walk them out then lower yourself down onto your elbows, until your face is hovering over their genitals too. You should use your knees and elbows to hold yourself slightly above your partner, just so you’re not squashing them.

You’re now both in the perfect position for oral sex, as well as having easy access to each other’s anuses.

Why?

We think Carnal Crossing is a great way to elevate the much-loved 69 because it doesn’t stop at just oral sex. This position’s got all the incredible up-close views of the original, but with the added intensity of dual stimulation. The bottom partner can use their hands to spread the top partner’s cheeks wide, putting both genitals and anus on show – ready for licking, massaging and probing.

Try

Love to keep your partner guessing? Coat their anus in flavoured lube, and switch between using your fingers or your tongue to stimulate it. Add to the fun by both playing this sexy guessing game at the same time.

To dial the pleasure up even further, use your mouth to focus on oral sex, while bringing in an anal toy. If you or your partner has a penis, target their P-spot with a prostate massager an anal dildo or anal beads are perfect for partners of all genders. Slide the toys in and out of their anus (remembering to use lots of anal lube), as you tease their genitals with your tongue.

If you’re lying on your back, you’ve got your hands free to thrust the massager or dildo slowly in and out of the top partner’s anus. If you’re the partner kneeling on top, try an anal prober with a loop handle; this will be easier to control when you’re just using one hand.

Make it even easier

If brandishing an anal prober while giving oral sex at the same time sounds like a bit of a tall order, keep things simple by using vibrating butt plugs instead. Once they’re inserted, the vibrations will keep the anal fun going while you focus on giving oral.

If you’ve got sensitive knees, try kneeling on pillows to alleviate the pressure on your joints.

Make it even better

Use orgasm gel to build in yet another layer of stimulation. While probing each other’s anuses with toys, and teasing their clitoris or penis with your mouth, take a quick break to massage orgasm balm into each other’s balls or labia. Once you get back to the oral and anal play, this tingling addition will help to heighten pleasure even further – so when you each come to climax, it’ll be even more explosive.

Enhance this position

Not the position for you?

We're working to make sure that everyone is represented on our website, regardless of who you love, so we'll be using a variety of gender depictions in our Position of the Week posts. This will include straight, gay, lesbian, and gender neutral couples, but all positions will have details in the description of how to make them work for your own relationship dynamic.
