I have no idea why it's taken me so long to review this. Probably because I've been too busy playing with it...
I have even less idea why it's been discontinued. It makes me sad. A lot.
I'd never had a Tantus product before this one, but I was looking for a good, long-wear butt plug, and this seemed to fit the bill. After trying another brand, and finding the ''feet'' were too long for my tiny body, I was apprehensive, but the Neo appeared to be smaller, and had pretty decent reviews. So after weeks of lusting over it, when it finally came on DOTD I had to snap it up.
In hindsight, I'd have happily paid full price and had this little beauty in my life a lot sooner.
I practically pulled the postman's arm off as he delivered this, and abandoned whatever I was doing to unpack and play. The Tantus packaging is clear plastic so you can see the toy from all angles, and the back contains information about use, care, warranty etc. No frills, but who cares?
I think I came a little as I opened the box, as the silky smooth plug slipped into my hand. Made of premium grade ''Platinum'' silicone, I'm pretty sure this stuff is softer than the faces of angels. I just sat and held it for a while.
The entire plug is super smooth, with no imperfections or marks anywhere, except for the monogrammed brand name on the base. It has no smell, no drag, and a good firmness with just a bit of give to the surface and tip.
The plug is well-sized and proportioned, probably within the ''intermediate'' bounds. The feet, which are the part I was worried about, are around 6cm from tip to tip, and nicely flexible at the tapered ends. This is absolutely perfect for me as a smaller woman, as the ends didn't cover my vaginal opening when the plug is fully inserted - a problem I have found with other brands in this style, which obviously made intercourse impossible with those plugs in. But the Neo? Perfect.
A combination of a little bit of lube, and the smoothness and lovely shape of the plug made inserting the plug a dream. Whilst somewhat tapered, the tip of the plug is softly rounded, so there was no awkward pointing and stabbing, just a nice steady taper to help insert the plug. The steady bulge of the plug is pleasant, and the long but thick stem kept me feeling stretched but secure all the time I was wearing it. I found the size to be just right; being the largest anal toy I have used, I expected to need some working up and a bit of practice before I could comfortably use this plug straight away, but the good size combined with brilliant proportioning made it easy.
I have worn this plug in different situations since, and I find it pretty ideal for everything.
Everyday wear for extended periods is great, due to the T-bar base, which provides great security. The texture is a lot more pleasant than other plugs too, as it doesn't generate much friction when it's beginning to need more lubrication (around every hour or so from my experience). The size makes it filling, but not obnoxious, and the length I have found is also long enough to be stimulating (try pushing the base whilst wearing it!) but short enough that I can sit down and move around comfortably.
During intercourse or other playtimes, the long neck of the plug keeps it safely in my butt, and I haven't experienced it popping out whilst having sex, which is awesome. My orgasms when using this plug are more frequent, longer, and much more intense.
Another amazing feature of this plug, is the slightly concave base, curving in slightly directly in line with the tip. This, with the quality of the silicone, channels even the most gentle vibrations, so placing a bullet there adds a whole other dimension of pleasure, which I adore.
I find the Tantus Neo to be easy to clean and store, as using warm water and soap is just fine. It being non-porous silicone, you can also sterilize it through boiling, steaming or dish washing. Not that I have a dishwasher, but eh.
I keep it in a cotton pouch or a LH toy case, but I have never found it to be prone to collecting bits of fluff etc when on the bed from static, which is an added bonus, unlike some toys which you put on a towel for two seconds while you find the lube, and they need a wash. Boo.
I honestly can't convey my love and recommendations for this product enough. I've wanted to try other plugs since, including glass and metal, but... I always come back to this lovely. Do I really need another plug, I ask myself? With this, not really. It's definitely my firm favourite and I know I'll be getting a lot of use out of it for a long time coming *giggle giggle*.
- Everything! Beautiful shape and texture.
- Nothing. It'd be nice if it came in different sizes. Maybe.
- Bottom line
- A wonderful product and a staple for every anal play toy box.

Tantus really knows how to make a toy! If you know Tantus items, you know that they are usually made of silicone. The usual feel is grabby and firm, but with the Twist, Neo, and Juice - they went with a matte feel silicone. It is so soft and feels so buttery smooth! It's much more comfortable while it rest inside you.
The Neo's shape allows for the plug so slide in nicely. The neck is the perfect size for you to ease comfortably with the plug inside you. The base is the best quality about these plugs because it's slender and tucks in between your cheeks without parting them. You will hardly notice you are wearing the plug. Yet, the base is still protecting your body from sucking it inside.
The Neo is well worth the money. One of the best plugs I've ever owned.
- Silicone, matte feel, size, and base shape.
- Slightly expensive.
- Bottom line
- The best plug you can purchase.

This plug is just brilliant on so many levels. I’ve bought Tantus before, and been impressed with the quality, but this plug is quite simply where design brilliance and great quality come together. I’ve got a handful of plugs already, and been quite happily satisfied with them, but I don’t think I would have believed how great this is had I not been sent this by Lovehoney as a product to test. So, my deepest thanks to that person who picked my name out of the hat!
The material is a soft, velvety silicone, which I have actually seen before on one of Tantus’s other products - the Panty Play, and I was impressed with it then. I am not exaggerating when I say it is honestly gorgeous to touch. It is an extremely flexible silicone, in thin areas (i.e., the base of this plug) it’s really pliable without feeling at all flimsy; whereas larger, thicker areas feel more rigid - but not so stiff that they don’t have a bit of give to them - something which I believe is extremely important in an anal toy.
Though the bulb is graduated to a small tip for easy insertion, it avoids a major pitfall that a lot of cheaper (particularly jelly products like the Basics plug) have, in that this tip is actually really stable for insertion, it’s not wiggling about avoiding where you want it to go.
The silicone also has other great advantages, being that it can be put in boiling water or run through the dishwasher in order to completely sterilise it.
Coincidentally, the material is very good at transmitting vibrations, when you hold a vibrator against the base of it. (Beware not to use a silicone vibe, however, as silicone only likes to play by itself, you very well may damage both silicone devices if used together.) The base is actually well designed for this, being slightly convex, it draws the vibe into the centre of the base rather than slipping off to the side.
Size and comfort when wearing:
This plug is one of the thicker plugs I have, though I do tend to prefer a girthier anal toy. As always, I worked up to it, but actually found this toy not so much of an unforgiving size increase when inserted - it widens really gently around the bulb, and the giving material does ensure that it isn’t too uncomfortable if it is a little bit of a step-up for you.
It’s apparently the same thickness as the average penis, and I do agree that it is a very useful tool for anal training - mainly because I found it such a comfortable plug to wear, I could get accustomed to the size and wear it for a longer duration.
You can defiantly feel the size of the plug when wearing, but it’s not an uncomfortable sensation. The neck is just right to hold it in, hold it in position, and there were absolutely no worries of it popping out, it was snug. I was able to walk around with it in, again, no worries of it slipping out, and it would make a brilliant plug for someone who wishes to wear plugs for longer durations. Not least, because of the design of the base.
This, I found, was something really special. The base is curved and pointed at the ends like an orange slice- however, the underside of the base actually curves inwards (is convex) rather than outwards like that orange example. This very elegant shaping means that it does one thing, very brilliantly- it sits snug and flat between the globes of your bottom. No awkward angles protruding into the flesh, no uneasy slight gap between plug and body, no unwanted twisting of the toy when inserted. It lies flat close against the body; no worries about any protruding shape being possibly visible through clothes (if you like extended wear), comfortable as comfortable can be. This, along with the gentle shape of the bulb and luxurious material, is the main reason why this plug is just to brilliant. They’ve made it fit the body. Perfectly. And that soft silicone means that it will conform to yours, too.
(Just a note - I never give perfect marks during reviews. I do not give high scores lightly; everything always has room for improvement - but my scores here are a mark of the design brilliance which has gone into this.)
- Shape, design, velvety material, the perfect base, lovely colour. Comfort.
- Absolutely nothing.
- Bottom line
- One of the best plugs I have ever tried. Sits well and is ridiculously comfortable.
