    1. Sensual spikes

I got this because I like sensual play. I don't necessarily like BDSM but really like the kinky appeal of this.

I like to test new items on myself, and while this doesn't necessarily get me hot and bothered, depending on the area it's used, I love the way it makes me squirm... until it feels too intense, a sensation overload.

It seems to be a quality product. I think with care it could last for years or a lifetime.

You roll it over the skin to your desired pressure.

It rolls smoothly and gives a nice little bite.

I had a cheaper version of a wheel and it was squeaky, low quality and next to no sensation, so I upgraded to this. This does not disappoint.

The only thing I would have preferred is a case so I could store it without fear of damaging it or surrounding areas/items.

    1. Instant arousal

I read the reviews on here and it piqued my interest.

It felt really nice when husband used it on me. Barely painful. (But then he found my nipple!) I am getting more into bondage so, this was vital addition to my collection.

The box it came in (although flimsy) keeps it where I know it is.

    2. Overall Rating:

      Pros
The feeling when rolled over back of neck. Very well made from good stainless steel.
      Cons
      Nothing really?
      Bottom line
Looks scary, but feels really nice on erogenous zones

    1. Tingly, prickly goodness

Reviewed: 4 November 2016 by NatandTom, a Straight Going Steady Female

Until recently, I'll admit that I was quite intimidated by pinwheels and it wasn't something I thought I'd ever try, but then I saw the beginners, plastic version from Master Series and my interest was piqued.

I decided to take a chance on it and see how I felt, which turned out to be one of the best decisions I've made in a while. I actually loved the sensations and found myself wanting to add some temperature play into the mix, so I decided to kick it up a notch and purchase this stainless steel version from Bondage Boutique.

It arrived quickly, as always in simple packaging. Just a white cardboard box with a Bondage Boutique sticker on the front. It's not fancy, but it's all that's really necessary. Inside the box, the pinwheel was wrapped in tissue paper inside a plastic packet for extra protection.

When I removed it from the packet, I noticed that it had a nice amount of weight to it, which is primarily coming from the handle. It's quite thick and ergonomically shaped, which makes it extremely comfortable to hold. It has a few grooves, which I thought were just for aesthetic purposes at first, but they're actually to aid gripping, stopping the pinwheel from slipping out of your hand mid-use. The wheel itself features twenty-two evenly-shaped pins, which glide over the skin with ease.

Despite its medical, intimidating appearance, it's not as scary as you may think. The pins are sharp, but not sharp enough that they will draw blood, regardless of the amount of pressure used. We experimented with different amounts and found that even with as much force as my partner could use, no real marks were left on the skin. It did leave small impressions of the pins at maximum pressure, but these went away fairly quickly.

We have used this pinwheel in a few different ways, but I think its primary use is going to be for longer sessions with multiple sensory tools. It's nice to have the prickly sensation broken up with a flog or a tickle every now and again.

We have learned that pinwheels with more pins tend to be less intense as those with less, but that doesn't mean this is not a good piece of kit. I think it's fantastic for those starting out with pinwheels or sensation play and it's great for use during warm-up sessions or longer sessions where you want the intensity to build slowly.

I particularly like this pinwheel to be used on more sensitive areas such as the thighs, chest, bottom and neck, but it can be used anywhere. It can be great to start off with broader areas such as the stomach or back, but I feel as though the sensation is heightened in more sensitive locations. I can feel the blood begin to rush to the surface when my partner uses it in these places and I can feel the excitement in my nerves start to build-up.

Overall, I am once again impressed with my experience with a pinwheel. I don't know why I waited so long to try one as they are honestly fantastic for sensory stimulation. I have since purchased a couple more and I can see them becoming a bigger part of our play over the next few months. My advice would be to not write off pinwheels just because they look scary, as you may just be surprised once the sensations start talking.
